Getting involved with On The Move without running!
Thanks so much for expressing an interest in getting involved with this years On The Move fundraising campaign.
We appreciate that running a full, or half, marathon isn’t for everyone. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get involved. If you have a passion for raising vital funds for the Winter Night Shelter MK or Meningitis Now, read on. We’d love to have you on board!
At On The Move we’re aiming to raise £25,000 each for two charities: the Winter Night Shelter MK and Meningitis Now. And we would love your help!
There are loads of ways you can help us fundraise without running the marathon. Are you a future Great British Bake Off winner? Perhaps you throw a legendary party? Maybe you and your colleagues love a fancy dress day at work? Whatever it is you’re planning, let’s make as successful as possible!

Spread the word
Raising £50,000 requires a lot of hard work, effort, and dedication. So thank you for your pledge to help make that dream a reality.
Our two chosen causes are supporting people in desperate need of help, and it’s up to us to make sure we come through for them by smashing our target.
A successful fundraising campaign depends entirely on our ability to get the word out there. So, we need your help to let people know about the great work we’re doing at On The Move.
What to do
Once you’ve decided on which fundraising event you would like to hold, it’s time to think about donations.
The best way to get started is to set up a JustGiving page for your specific event, and link it to the On The Move team JustGiving pages. You can use JustGiving to raise money offline too, and it’ll help to see how profitable your hard work was as well as automatically contributing to the On The Move’s team fundraising target.
If you haven’t set up your Just Giving page yet – we’ve put together a simple guide to take you through the process.
Make some noise!
You’ve set a date for your event, you’ve set up your JustGiving page – all that needs to happen now are for the donations to come rolling in!
The best way to do that is to make as much noise as possible. Whatever the event, social media is your friend! Post, post and repost about your event – and get your friends, family and colleagues to do the same. Make sure you include your JustGiving page on your posts too, so people can go on and make donations. A top tip when it comes to posting is to say thank you for each donation made – a simple thank you is also a great way of encouraging others to donate to your cause as well!
Make sure you take lots of photos of your event before, during and after. Please do send some of them to us, we’d love to give as many of them a shout out in our monthly newsletters as possible.
